Kingdom for Kids
Kingdom for Kids is one of the Rotary Club of San Antonio's most enduring service projects, founded in 1997 by Past President Rick Cavender. The initiative brings together Rotarians, corporate teams, nonprofit staff, and community volunteers to build playgrounds in underserved areas of San Antonio where outdoor play opportunities are limited or nonexistent.
Since its founding, 28 Kingdom for Kids playground builds have been completed at schools, nonprofit campuses, and libraries throughout San Antonio, with Rotarians contributing thousands of hours of volunteer time. Notable projects include fully ADA-accessible playgrounds and specialized play areas for children with health and developmental challenges.

Snack Pak 4 Kids SA
Snack Pak 4 Kids San Antonio was born out of a simple yet powerful mission: to improve educational outcomes by banishing weekend hunger among school children. Every Friday, teachers discreetly place backpacks filled with 14 brand-name, kid-approved food items into the bags of students identified as food insecure — no forms, no public distributions, just dignity and respect.
In San Antonio, the organization collaborates with local churches, civic organizations, businesses, and private schools to collectively serve students in need across over 60 public schools in 6 school districts. After receiving Snack Pak backpacks, 71% of teachers reported improvement in their students' academic performance, demonstrating the direct link between food security and educational success.

SNIPSA
SNIPSA (Spay-Neuter-Inject-Protect San Antonio) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) rescue organization founded in 2006 by a group of veterinarians and caring individuals dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted animals in San Antonio and surrounding areas. Unlike traditional shelters, SNIPSA operates entirely through a foster-based model, with volunteers opening their homes to rehabilitate animals rescued from area shelters whose time is running out.
Beyond rescue and adoption, SNIPSA addresses pet overpopulation at its root through their Big Fix clinics — large-scale operations providing sterilization, vaccinations, and microchipping for hundreds of cats and dogs in a single day. To date, SNIPSA has rehomed more than 24,000 animals and completed over 30,000 spay/neuter surgeries, making a tremendous impact on San Antonio's animal welfare.
